Delivery Partner FAQ

Delivering with Funamu: getting started, deliveries, earnings and payouts.

1064 questions in 94 topics.

Contacting the customer8
  • Can I call the customer?

No. The customer's phone number is never shown to you. On an active delivery, use "Contact the customer" on the delivery screen and message them in the chat on that delivery. Phone calls through Funamu are not available.

  • Can I see the customer's phone number?

No. The customer's phone number is never shown to you. On an active delivery, use "Contact the customer" on the delivery screen and message them in the chat on that delivery.

  • What customer details can I see?

Only what the delivery needs, while it is assigned to you and active: the recipient's name, the delivery point and instructions, the order number and the order chat. Never the customer's phone number, account, other orders, saved locations or payments. When the delivery is completed, cancelled or given to another Delivery Partner, the details disappear. Each time you open them it is recorded.

  • How do I report a wrong assistant answer?

Tell the assistant in the chat that its answer was wrong and what was wrong; it records the report. Funamu checks every report. A report never changes a delivery, a payment or your earnings.

  • When can I contact the customer?

Only for a delivery that is assigned to you and still active: from the moment you are assigned until it is delivered, failed or handed back. After that the contact option closes. Opening a contact is limited to a few times an hour for one delivery.

  • What do I do if the customer is not answering?

Message the customer in the delivery's chat saying you have arrived and where you are, then on "Contact the customer" choose "Customer is not answering". The app shows the steps: wait at the delivery location, and if the customer still cannot be reached, record the delivery as failed on the delivery screen. The order then shows the customer what happens next.

  • Why can I no longer contact the customer?

The delivery is no longer active or is no longer assigned to you. Contact is allowed only for a delivery you are carrying now.

  • Does Funamu see my messages to the customer?

Yes. Chats on a delivery are kept by Funamu. Funamu's Trust and Support workers can read them when they check a report, a dispute or a safety problem, and messages that try to move a deal off Funamu are blocked.

Delivery services and payment6
  • How do I know a delivery is Express or Same-Day?

Funamu has one delivery service, Standard. There are no Express or Same-Day deliveries. The delivery screen shows the time the delivery was estimated by.

  • How is the delivery time on my delivery worked out?

It is built from the merchant's preparation time, the distance and, for another city, the PUDO departure and travel time. It is an estimate the customer was shown, not a guarantee. If it passes, the delivery shows as late; the service the customer chose does not change.

  • How do I know the customer has paid?

The delivery screen shows "Payment confirmed" or "Payment not confirmed". It shows nothing else about the payment. Customers pay in the app; you never collect money for an order.

  • Do I collect money from the customer?

No. Orders are paid in the app. Nothing is paid to you by the customer for the order.

  • Can the customer see where I am?

While you are carrying their order and your phone is sharing its position, the customer's order says a live position is being received and when it was last updated. It is not shown on a map, it is rounded, and it stops when the delivery ends. When you are offline or your phone has not reported for two minutes, the customer sees that live location is not available.

  • Am I paid more for an Express or Same-Day delivery?

There are no Express or Same-Day deliveries: Funamu has one delivery service, Standard. Your earning is worked out from the delivery fee of each delivery.

Delivery attempts and parcels6
  • How do I record that I could not deliver?

On the delivery screen, under Parcels, press "Could not hand over". Choose the reason, say whether you tried to reach the customer and, for "Other", describe what happened. For "Nobody available" or "Customer did not reply" you must first contact the customer on that delivery. The app then shows the next step from Funamu's rule: another attempt, or the failed-delivery process. Recording an attempt never cancels or refunds the order.

  • What reasons can I give for a delivery attempt?

Nobody available to receive, customer did not reply, location not found, location could not be reached, parcel declined, a restriction at the location, not safe to deliver, or other (with a description). The customer is shown the reason in plain words.

  • What happens after a delivery attempt?

If Funamu's rule allows another attempt for that reason, the parcel shows "Another delivery attempt is scheduled" and you press "Set out again" when you leave. Otherwise the delivery goes to the failed-delivery process: Operations may offer the customer collection at a pickup station, or the parcel goes back to the merchant.

  • Where is the tracking number of a parcel I carry?

On the delivery screen under Parcels. Each parcel has its own tracking number (FMPKG-...).

  • Can the assistant record a delivery attempt for me?

No. The assistant can show your parcels, the attempts already recorded and the reasons you may choose. Recording an attempt is always your own tap on the delivery screen.

  • Why does a parcel I carry show "Delayed"?

Its next step is overdue for the time Funamu expects for that step (for example out for delivery for longer than expected). "Delayed" is shown next to the parcel's status with the recorded reason, or that no cause is recorded yet. It goes away by itself when the parcel moves on. Record what really happens, such as the delivery or an attempt; never record a step you did not do.

Gift orders2
  • How do I deliver a gift order?

The delivery screen shows "Gift" with the recipient's name and any delivery instructions. Hand the parcel to that recipient and complete the delivery with the order PIN as usual. You are not shown who paid or the price.

  • Do I collect anything from a gift recipient?

No. Gift orders are paid in the app by the person who sent them. Never ask the recipient for money.

Your rating3
  • How are deliveries rated?

After a delivery you brought to the door is completed, the customer can rate it from 1 to 5 stars with an optional comment, within 30 days. A delivery cannot be rated while it is on its way or after a failed attempt. Parcels collected at a Funamu station are rated as Funamu's delivery service, not you.

  • Where do I see my rating?

Open Earnings: "Your delivery rating" shows the average, the number of ratings, the spread from 1 to 5 stars and the change over the last 30 days. Comments are shown without names or dates once you have at least 3 ratings.

  • Can one bad rating get me suspended?

No. A single rating never leads to action by itself. Funamu looks at ratings together with on-time deliveries, successful deliveries, complaints and incidents. Ratings that break the review policy can be hidden by Funamu.

Customer help requests and secure handover4
  • What is a customer help request?

A customer can ask for help with a delivery from the order screen. You see a request only while the delivery is assigned to you, on the delivery screen. Record what you did (tried to coordinate, access problem, address problem) or ask Operations; that adds a note and never changes the delivery itself.

  • What is a secure handover location?

A reception, concierge, security desk or authorised collection point the customer chose for this delivery before pickup. The delivery screen shows the place, the person or desk who may receive it and the check to do (the delivery PIN). Hand over only there. After handing over, record who received it, then confirm the delivery as usual with the PIN: recording the handover alone does not complete the delivery.

  • Can I leave the parcel somewhere else?

No. Only the approved secure location shown on the delivery may be used. Any other place needs the customer to change it in the app before pickup; you and the assistant cannot approve a different place.

  • Where is my Delivery Partner agreement?

Earnings shows the Delivery Partner agreement Funamu has published, its version and whether you have accepted it. If none is published yet, nothing is shown.

Restaurant food orders3
  • Why can I not mark a restaurant order as picked up?

The restaurant has not marked the food ready yet. Wait at the restaurant. You can mark it picked up once they mark it ready and hand it over.

  • When are restaurant deliveries offered to me?

Shortly before the time the restaurant says the food will be ready, so you do not wait long. They are offered in the same way as other deliveries.

  • How do I know when the food will be ready?

The restaurant gives its own estimate when it accepts the order and can update it. If it is late after you have marked "Arrived at merchant", you are not released and Funamu Operations are told about the delay.

Partner registration and onboarding20
  • How do I register as a delivery partner?

Sign in to the Delivery Partners app with your Funamu account and fill in the Delivery Partner form: your legal name, the vehicle (type, plate number, make and model, owned or not owned), the city and the wards you will work in, a contact number if your account has none, and photos of your identity document and of your face. You also register your payout account, an MTN or Airtel Mobile Money number: Funamu pays you into it. Funamu Operations review the application and approve or decline it; you can see its status in the app.

  • Who can become a delivery partner?

Anyone with a Funamu account aged 18 or over who has a Motorcycle, Tricycle, Van, Truck or Bus they may legally drive, in a city where Funamu works, and whose application Funamu Operations approve. A business with two or more vehicles can apply as a Delivery Company.

  • Can an individual register as a delivery partner?

Yes. An individual applies with the Delivery Partner form in the Delivery Partners app. Funamu checks who you are before you can work. Add clear photos of your Ugandan National ID (front and back) and a clear photo of your face, in the Delivery Partner form when you apply or on More > Identity verification. If you are not Ugandan, add your passport photo page or your refugee ID (front and back) instead. Funamu Operations compare the photos and approve, reject or ask for new ones, with a reason. You cannot go online or be given deliveries until they are approved. This is Funamu's own review, not an official check of the document.

  • Can a company register as a delivery partner?

Yes. A business with 2 to 100 vehicles applies as a Delivery Company in the Delivery Partners app: the company details, at least one company document and every vehicle. Funamu Operations approve it. Drivers are Delivery Partners approved on their own, who join the company by accepting its invitation.

  • Can a fleet operator register multiple vehicles?

Yes. A business with 2 to 100 vehicles applies as a Delivery Company in the Delivery Partners app: the company details, at least one company document and every vehicle. Funamu Operations approve it. Drivers are Delivery Partners approved on their own, who join the company by accepting its invitation.

  • Can I register more than one vehicle?

A Delivery Partner works with one vehicle at a time: the one on your Delivery Partner profile. To work with several vehicles, apply as a Delivery Company (two or more vehicles).

  • Can I operate multiple vehicle types?

A Delivery Partner works with one vehicle at a time: the one on your Delivery Partner profile. To work with several vehicles, apply as a Delivery Company (two or more vehicles). You can change the vehicle on your profile.

  • What information is required during registration?

Sign in to the Delivery Partners app with your Funamu account and fill in the Delivery Partner form: your legal name, the vehicle (type, plate number, make and model, owned or not owned), the city and the wards you will work in, a contact number if your account has none, and photos of your identity document and of your face. You also register your payout account, an MTN or Airtel Mobile Money number: Funamu pays you into it. Funamu Operations review the application and approve or decline it; you can see its status in the app.

  • What documents are required during onboarding?

Photos of your Ugandan National ID (front and back), or of your passport photo page or refugee ID if you are not Ugandan, and a clear photo of your face. Nothing else: Funamu does not ask for licence, vehicle or insurance papers in the app. The only documents Funamu collects are your identity document and a photo of your face (More > Identity verification). A Delivery Company also gives at least one company document.

  • How long does partner onboarding take?

Funamu does not promise a time. Funamu Operations review applications in the order they arrive, and the app shows the status.

  • How do I know whether my application has been approved?

The Delivery Partners app shows your application status. When it is approved, the app opens your Delivery Partner Home.

  • What happens if my application is rejected?

You cannot take deliveries. You may correct the details and apply again with the form, or ask Funamu Support in Chat why.

  • Can I correct information submitted during registration?

Before a decision, ask Funamu Support in Chat. After approval, change it on More > Delivery Partner profile.

  • Can I update my registration information later?

Yes. Open More > Delivery Partner profile to change your legal name, vehicle and service wards. Your payout account is changed under More > Payout accounts, with a code sent to your registered email address. Each change is recorded.

No. A Delivery Partner account belongs to one person and cannot be given, sold or lent to anyone. The other person applies with their own Funamu account.

  • Can I change the business or fleet associated with my account?

Yes. Leave a Delivery Company by asking its admin or Funamu Support, and join another by accepting its invitation. You work for one company at a time.

  • Can I pause my delivery partner account?

Yes. Go offline: you receive no delivery offers until you go online again. Your account, earnings and history stay as they are.

  • Can I permanently close my delivery partner account?

Yes. Open More > Close account. First go offline, finish your deliveries (or un-accept those not yet picked up), hand over any return parcels and request a payout of your balance on Earnings: the app lists what is still open and closes the account only when nothing is. A balance below the minimum payout (UGX 15,000) stays on your account. Closing stops all delivery offers. Your delivery and money records are kept as the law requires (money records 5 years, chats 2 years).

  • Can I reapply after closing my account?

Yes. For 12 months after you close it, reopen your account yourself on More > Close account: it is active again at once, with your profile, history and balance, and you start offline. After 12 months, ask Funamu Support in Chat. An account suspended or closed by Funamu cannot be reopened this way.

  • Which locations does the platform support for delivery partners?

Uganda only, in the cities Funamu Operations have opened. The application lets you choose only those cities and their wards.

Identity verification15
  • What is KYC verification?

"Know your customer": checking that a person is who they say they are.

  • Why do I need to verify my identity?

So that customers, Merchants and parcels are safe, and so that only the approved person works on an account. • How long does identity verification take?

Funamu does not promise a time. Operations review submissions in the order they arrive. More > Identity verification shows the status: Pending, Under review, Approved, Rejected or More information required.

  • What happens if my identity verification fails?

  • Can I resubmit rejected documents?

Yes. On More > Identity verification, add new photos and tap "Send for review".

  • What happens if my identity document expires?

Funamu does not record or track the expiry date of your document, and an approval does not expire.

If the parcel is bigger or heavier than the order says, do not take it: choose "Reject pickup" with the reason and a photo. Funamu Operations find a suitable vehicle.

  • Can my vehicle type restrict the jobs I receive?

Yes. You are offered only deliveries your vehicle can carry.

Availability and online status11
  • How do I go online?

On Home, tap "Go online". While you are online the app shares your location and you receive delivery offers in your city. You always start offline after signing in. You can go online only after Funamu has approved your identity verification.

  • How do I go offline?

Tap "Go offline". Offers stop and location sharing stops. Deliveries you already accepted stay yours: finish them, or un-accept those not yet picked up.

  • What does my availability status mean?

Online: you receive offers and your location is shared. Offline: no offers and no location sharing.

  • Can I choose when I am available?

Yes. You go online and offline whenever you want. There are no fixed hours.

  • Can I pause receiving delivery requests?

Yes. Go offline: you receive no delivery offers until you go online again. Your account, earnings and history stay as they are.

  • Can I become unavailable while on a delivery?

Tap "Go offline". Offers stop and location sharing stops. Deliveries you already accepted stay yours: finish them, or un-accept those not yet picked up.

  • Can the platform automatically change my availability?

Signing out ends your shift and takes you offline. Funamu does not take you offline in any other way unless your account is suspended.

  • Why am I not receiving delivery jobs?

Check that your identity verification is approved (More > Identity verification), that you are online, that location is allowed for the app, and that you are in your registered city. Offers go first to the nearest Delivery Partners, and only for loads your vehicle can carry.

  • Can fleet operators control driver availability?

No. Each driver goes online and offline in their own app.

  • Can I schedule availability in advance?

No. You go online when you are ready to work.

  • Does my location affect whether I receive jobs?

Yes. Offers go to the nearest eligible Delivery Partners by road distance first. Without a known location you rank after everyone whose location is known.

Job discovery15
  • How do I find available delivery jobs?

Go online and open Available deliveries.

  • How are jobs shown to me?

As a list in Available deliveries: pickup, destination, parcels and fee for each delivery offered to you.

  • Why am I seeing this job?

You were among the nearest eligible Delivery Partners when it was offered: registered in its city, online, and your vehicle can carry the whole load. Operations can also assign a delivery to you directly.

  • How does the platform determine which partner receives a job?

A delivery is offered only to Delivery Partners registered in the city of its pickup, online, and with a vehicle that can carry the whole load. First a Delivery Partner whose first held delivery goes within 200 m of this customer is tried, then the Merchant's favourite Delivery Partners nearby, then everyone eligible in waves: the nearest 10 by road distance, then 10 more every 5 minutes, up to 5 waves. If nobody accepts, Funamu Operations are alerted and may assign it. Ratings and earnings are not used.

  • Does distance affect job assignment?

Yes. Offers go to the nearest by road distance first.

  • Does vehicle type affect job assignment?

Yes. Only vehicles that can carry the whole load are offered it.

  • Does capacity affect job assignment?

Yes. Each vehicle carries what its registration allows. A motorcycle load must also be within 80 kg and 120 litres. The whole load (every parcel you would carry together) is checked, from the measurements Merchants must enter for every product. Deliveries that do not fit are not offered to you and cannot be accepted.

  • Does partner performance affect job assignment?

No. Ratings and performance are not used to offer deliveries. A Merchant's favourite Delivery Partners nearby are offered its orders first.

  • Does availability affect job assignment?

Yes. Only online Delivery Partners are offered deliveries.

  • Can I search for delivery jobs?

No. Available deliveries lists every delivery offered to you.

  • Can I see the pickup location before accepting?

    Yes.

  • Can I see the destination before accepting?

Yes, the delivery area. Customer details are shown only after you accept.

  • Can I see the expected earnings before accepting?

You see the delivery fee. Your earning is that fee minus Funamu's commission.

  • Can I see package details before accepting?

Yes: the number of parcels, their weight and size. Never what the customer bought or paid.

  • Can I see whether a delivery is intra-city or inter-city before accepting?

Yes. The delivery shows where it goes: a customer, a PUDO or a pickup station in your city.

Job assignment14
  • How are delivery jobs assigned?

A delivery is offered only to Delivery Partners registered in the city of its pickup, online, and with a vehicle that can carry the whole load. First a Delivery Partner whose first held delivery goes within 200 m of this customer is tried, then the Merchant's favourite Delivery Partners nearby, then everyone eligible in waves: the nearest 10 by road distance, then 10 more every 5 minutes, up to 5 waves. If nobody accepts, Funamu Operations are alerted and may assign it. Ratings and earnings are not used.

  • Why was this delivery assigned to me?

You were among the nearest eligible Delivery Partners when it was offered: registered in its city, online, and your vehicle can carry the whole load. Operations can also assign a delivery to you directly.

  • Can a job be assigned automatically?

Deliveries are offered automatically; you take one by accepting. Funamu Operations can also assign deliveries and trips directly.

  • Can a dispatcher assign me a job?

Yes. Funamu Operations can assign or reassign deliveries, and they assign trips between cities.

  • Can a fleet operator assign jobs to its drivers?

No. Deliveries are offered by Funamu dispatch; the company assigns vehicles to drivers, not deliveries.

  • Can I see who assigned the job?

The delivery shows whether you accepted it or Operations assigned it. Funamu workers are not named.

  • Can an assignment be reassigned?

Yes, before pickup: by you (un-accept), by the Merchant on its own order, or by Funamu Operations, each with a recorded reason. After pickup only Operations can move it, through a handover.

  • Why was my assignment cancelled?

Either the pickup deadline passed before you arrived, the Merchant or Operations released it with a reason, or the order was cancelled. The delivery shows the reason.

  • Why was my assignment reassigned?

Before pickup the Merchant or Funamu Operations can release a delivery with a reason (for example the order is not ready, the vehicle is wrong for the load, rebalancing, safety). You are not fined.

  • Can I request reassignment?

Before pickup, un-accept it with a reason. After pickup, ask Funamu Support in Chat.

  • Can I accept multiple assignments at once?

Yes, as long as your vehicle can carry the whole load. Each new acceptance gets its own pickup deadline on your route.

  • Can I see all my active assignments?

    Yes, in My deliveries.

  • Can I see upcoming assignments?

My deliveries and Trips show what you have accepted or been assigned and not done yet.

  • Can I see completed assignments?

Yes. Completed tasks are on Earnings.

Job acceptance and rejection12
  • How do I accept a delivery job?

Open Available deliveries, check the pickup, the destination, the parcels and the fee, and tap Accept. The first eligible Delivery Partner to accept gets it; the app checks again that your vehicle can carry the load.

  • How much time do I have to accept a job?

There is no countdown on an offer: it stays until someone accepts it. It disappears when another Delivery Partner accepts it first or Operations assign it.

  • Can I reject a delivery job?

You do not have to accept an offer: leave it and it goes to others. Nothing is recorded against you for not accepting.

  • What happens if I reject a job?

You do not have to accept an offer: leave it and it goes to others. Nothing is recorded against you for not accepting.

  • Does rejecting jobs affect my performance?

No. Not accepting an offer is not recorded against you.

  • Can I cancel a job after accepting it?

Yes, before pickup. On the delivery, choose un-accept and a reason (cannot make it, vehicle problem, too far, load unsuitable, other). The delivery goes back to other Delivery Partners. There is no fine, and nothing is earned. If you un-accept the same order 3 times it is no longer offered to you. After pickup you cannot un-accept: ask Funamu Support in Chat.

  • What happens if I accept a job accidentally?

Un-accept it before pickup.

  • Can the platform automatically accept jobs?

No. Only you accept, by your own tap. The assistant can prepare the button; you tap it.

  • Can fleet operators accept jobs on behalf of drivers?

No. Each driver accepts in their own app.

  • Why can I not accept a job?

Someone else accepted it first, your vehicle cannot carry the load, you are offline, your identity verification is not approved, or you have un-accepted that order 3 times or missed its pickup deadline.

  • Why did the job disappear?

Another Delivery Partner accepted it, Operations assigned it, or the order was cancelled.

  • What happens when another partner accepts the job first?

It leaves your list. The first acceptance wins.

Pickup18
  • Where do I go for pickup?

The merchant shown on the delivery, on the Route Map.

  • How do I navigate to the pickup location?

Open the delivery's Route Map. Funamu maps use Mapbox.

  • What should I do when I arrive?

At the merchant, tap "Arrived at merchant". It takes a fresh GPS reading and counts only within 100 m of the merchant's registered location. Once you have arrived, you are not released if the merchant is late: Funamu Operations are told about the Merchant's delay instead.

  • What if only some packages are ready?

Do not take part of an order. Wait, or choose "Reject pickup" with the reason; Funamu Operations decide.

  • What if the merchant gives me the wrong package?

  • Can I message the merchant?

Merchants' phone numbers are not shown. At the merchant, the Merchant sees your arrival and that you are waiting on their order. For anything else, message Funamu Support in Chat.

  • What information can I share with the merchant?

Only what the pickup needs: your name and the order you are collecting. Never the customer's details.

  • What information can the merchant see about me?

That a Delivery Partner accepted its order, your arrival and that you are waiting. Not your phone number, earnings or other deliveries.

  • What should I do if the merchant is unavailable?

Mark "Arrived at merchant" and wait. The merchant sees that you are waiting. If the deadline passes after you arrived you are not released: Funamu Operations get a Merchant delay alert and decide (wait, reassign or cancel). You can also un-accept with a reason before pickup.

  • How do I report a merchant-related problem?

Record it on the delivery screen where the app gives an option (reject pickup, could not hand over, handover problem), otherwise message Funamu Support in Chat with the order number and photos.

Loading and unloading11
  • Who is responsible for loading the vehicle?

You load your vehicle; the merchant or PUDO hands the parcels to you.

  • Who is responsible for unloading?

You, at the PUDO or with the customer, until the receiver accepts the parcel.

  • How should packages be loaded?

Secure every parcel so it cannot fall or be crushed, keep it dry, and keep heavy parcels at the bottom.

  • Can packages be stacked?

Yes, heavy under light, never on a parcel that could be crushed.

  • Are fragile packages handled differently?

Yes. Keep them on top, padded and upright, and never stack anything heavy on them.

  • How should heavy packages be handled?

Lift carefully, load low and central, and never above your vehicle's capacity.

  • What should I do if a package does not fit?

Do not force it. On the delivery, choose "Reject pickup", pick the reason and take a photo. The merchant sees it on its order and Funamu Operations decide; until then you cannot confirm that pickup.

  • What happens if loading damages a package?

Report it straight away to Funamu Support in Chat with photos. Funamu Operations decide what happens to the parcel.

  • Can I carry packages for multiple customers?

Yes, when you accept several deliveries and the whole load fits your vehicle. While you hold a delivery you have not picked up, you are offered another only if its pickup is within 100 m of your first pickup, or within 50 m of the road from your first pickup to where that first delivery goes. Funamu Operations set these distances.

  • How do I verify the loaded shipment count?

Compare the parcels with My deliveries (and the bag list for a trip) before you leave.

  • What should I do if the shipment count is incorrect?

Do not leave. Tell the merchant or PUDO; if it cannot be fixed, choose "Reject pickup", or record the difference at the handover.

Route and navigation13
  • How do I navigate to my destination?

Open My route or the Route Map. Funamu maps use Mapbox.

  • Which navigation system does the platform use?

    Mapbox, in the app.

  • Can I choose my own route?

Yes. The route shown is a suggestion; drive the road you judge safest.

  • Can the platform provide a recommended route?

Yes. My route shows the order of your stops and the Route Map shows the road.

  • What happens if the recommended route is unavailable?

Use another road. Your pickup deadline was set from the road time when you accepted.

  • What if there is traffic?

Drive safely. If you will miss the pickup deadline, un-accept before it passes rather than let it lapse.

  • What if a road is closed?

    Use another road.

  • What if the destination is inaccessible?

Record the attempt with "Location could not be reached".

  • Can I report a route problem?

Yes. Message Funamu Support in Chat.

  • Does route deviation affect my delivery?

No. Only the deadline, the arrival check and the handover location are checked.

  • Can the platform track my route?

While you are online the app sends your location about every 30 seconds. Operations see live positions; customers only see that a live position is being received.

  • What location information is shared with the platform?

Your phone's location while you are online, and the GPS reading at arrival and handover. Nothing while you are offline.

Intra-city delivery10
  • How does intra-city delivery work?

You accept a delivery, collect it at the merchant by its pickup deadline, mark it picked up and out for delivery, and hand it to the customer with their PIN.

  • Which partners can perform intra-city deliveries?

Approved Delivery Partners registered in that city with a Motorcycle, Tricycle or Van that fits the load. Merchant-to-PUDO work in the city goes to vehicles registered on a route for that PUDO.

  • How are intra-city deliveries assigned?

A delivery is offered only to Delivery Partners registered in the city of its pickup, online, and with a vehicle that can carry the whole load. First a Delivery Partner whose first held delivery goes within 200 m of this customer is tried, then the Merchant's favourite Delivery Partners nearby, then everyone eligible in waves: the nearest 10 by road distance, then 10 more every 5 minutes, up to 5 waves. If nobody accepts, Funamu Operations are alerted and may assign it. Ratings and earnings are not used.

  • How is the intra-city delivery fee calculated?

Delivery fees come from the rates Funamu Operations set for each city and vehicle: a base fee, a charge by distance and by weight, a pickup charge and a night charge in the hours Operations set. The fee is worked out and locked when the customer orders, and the customer pays it with the order.

  • How long should intra-city delivery take?

The delivery shows the time it was estimated by, built from the preparation time and the distance. It is an estimate, not a deadline after pickup.

  • Can I accept multiple intra-city deliveries?

Yes, within your vehicle's capacity. While you hold a delivery you have not picked up, you are offered another only if its pickup is within 100 m of your first pickup, or within 50 m of the road from your first pickup to where that first delivery goes. Funamu Operations set these distances.

  • Can I perform multi-stop intra-city deliveries?

Yes. My route shows the order of your stops.

  • How do I handle multiple customers on one route?

Follow My route, and complete each delivery with its own customer's PIN.

  • What happens if one delivery fails?

Record that attempt; the others carry on. Funamu Operations decide what happens to a failed delivery: another attempt, collection by the customer at a pickup station, or return to the Merchant. Keep the parcel safe and follow the next step the app shows.

  • Can I return to the merchant after an unsuccessful delivery?

Only when the app shows return to the Merchant as the next step. If a failed delivery goes back to the merchant, the Delivery Partner who carries it back is paid the full Delivery Partner share of the delivery fee. If you made the attempt but someone else carries it back, you are paid half of that share.

Inter-city delivery19
  • How does inter-city delivery work?

The parcel goes from the merchant to a PUDO in its city, travels in a bag on a Truck or Bus trip to a PUDO in the destination city, and from there to the customer or a pickup station.

    Trucks and Buses.

  • How are inter-city trips assigned?

By Funamu Operations, who build and assign the trips. They appear in Trips.

  • How is an inter-city trip fee calculated?

From the rates Funamu Operations set for the trip between cities and the vehicle. Your earning is each leg's fee minus Funamu's commission.

  • How are inter-city shipments grouped?

In bags made at the origin PUDO for one destination.

  • What is an inter-city manifest?

  • How do I receive an inter-city manifest?

It is on the trip in Trips, with its bags.

  • How do I verify the manifest?

At the origin PUDO, check each bag against the trip; you accept them in the handover.

  • What happens at the origin hub?

Funamu has no hubs. Parcels between cities go through PUDOs: facilities run by PUDO Partners, where parcels are checked in, bagged for the trip and handed on. A pickup station is a PUDO where customers collect. At the origin PUDO the bags are handed to you in the app.

  • Can an inter-city shipment be transferred to another partner?

Only by Funamu Operations, through the app handover.

  • How is responsibility transferred?

  • How do I confirm arrival at the destination hub?

Funamu has no hubs. Parcels between cities go through PUDOs: facilities run by PUDO Partners, where parcels are checked in, bagged for the trip and handed on. A pickup station is a PUDO where customers collect. Hand the bags to the destination PUDO in the app; its acceptance records the arrival.

  • What happens if an inter-city trip is delayed?

Keep going safely and tell Funamu Support in Chat. Parcels that are late show "Delayed" to customers.

  • What happens if the vehicle breaks down during an inter-city trip?

Get safe, then message Funamu Support in Chat with where you are. Funamu Operations arrange another vehicle and the handover.

  • What happens if a package is missing at the destination hub?

Funamu has no hubs. Parcels between cities go through PUDOs: facilities run by PUDO Partners, where parcels are checked in, bagged for the trip and handed on. A pickup station is a PUDO where customers collect. The destination PUDO records it as missing at the handover and Funamu Operations investigate.

  • How are inter-city delivery problems reported?

  • What happens if a package is damaged at the hub?

It is recorded at the handover with photos and Funamu Operations decide.

Do not leave parcels outside. Message Funamu Support in Chat; Operations tell you where to go.

Pickup stations10
  • What is a pickup/drop-off station?

Parcels pass between a Delivery Partner and a PUDO only through the app handover: you hand over, and the receiver accepts each parcel on their own device. Responsibility moves only when the receiver accepts. Anything missing or damaged is recorded at that moment and goes to Funamu Operations.

  • What happens if the station cannot accept my package?

Keep it safe and message Funamu Support in Chat; Operations decide where it goes.

  • What happens if the package is missing at the station?

The station records it at the handover and Funamu Operations investigate.

  • What happens if the package is damaged at the station?

The station records it at the handover and Funamu Operations decide.

  • How do I report a station problem?

Open the Chat tab and message Funamu Support. Give the order number and what happened, and send photos if they help. Funamu replies within 24 hours.

Transfers between partners11
  • Can I transfer a shipment to another delivery partner?

Not on your own. Funamu Operations can arrange it, through the app handover.

  • When is a transfer required?

When a parcel changes vehicle or PUDO on its way, or when Funamu Operations move it (for example after a breakdown).

  • Who can authorize a shipment transfer?

    Funamu Operations.

  • How do I initiate a transfer?

Message Funamu Support in Chat; Operations set it up.

  • How do I confirm that another partner received the shipment?

The receiver accepts each parcel in their app; the handover then shows as accepted.

  • What information must be recorded during transfer?

Each parcel, who handed it over, who accepted it and when, and anything missing or damaged.

  • Who is responsible for the shipment before transfer?

    You.

  • Who is responsible after transfer?

The receiver, once they accept it.

  • What happens if the receiving partner refuses the shipment?

It stays yours. Funamu Operations decide what happens next.

  • What happens if a package goes missing during transfer?

It is recorded at the handover and Funamu Operations investigate.

  • How do I report a transfer problem?

Open the Chat tab and message Funamu Support. Give the order number and what happened, and send photos if they help. Funamu replies within 24 hours.

Customer interaction11
  • How should I communicate with customers?

Politely, only in the chat on the delivery. The customer's phone number is never shown to you, and your phone number is never shown to the customer. You talk in the chat on the delivery.

  • Can I call the customer?

The customer's phone number is never shown to you, and your phone number is never shown to the customer. You talk in the chat on the delivery.

  • Can I message the customer?

Yes, in the chat on an active delivery.

  • What information can I share with the customer?

Where you are and when you will arrive. Never your phone number, other customers' details or anything about the payment.

  • What information can the customer see about me?

That a Delivery Partner is on the way and whether a live position is being received. Never your phone number.

  • How do I verify the customer?

With the delivery PIN. The customer's 4-digit delivery PIN is in their Funamu app. At handover, ask the customer for it and enter it on the delivery screen. A correct PIN completes the delivery and credits your earning. After 5 wrong PINs in a row it is blocked and Funamu Operations step in. Never hand over a parcel without the PIN.

  • How do I verify the delivery address?

Compare where you are with the delivery point and instructions on the delivery screen.

  • What should I do if the customer asks me to change the delivery location?

You cannot change it. The customer changes it in the app where allowed; otherwise deliver to the place shown or record an attempt.

  • What should I do if the customer asks me to leave the package somewhere else?

No. Only the place on the delivery, or the secure location the customer chose before pickup.

  • What should I do if the customer asks me to perform an unauthorized action?

Refuse. Never hand over without the PIN, take money, or open a parcel. Tell Funamu Support in Chat.

  • How do I report customer-related problems?

Open the Chat tab and message Funamu Support. Give the order number and what happened, and send photos if they help. Funamu replies within 24 hours.

Delivery attempts9
  • How do I start a delivery attempt?

Tap "Out for delivery" when you leave, then go to the delivery point.

  • How do I record that I arrived?

At the door, the handover checks your GPS against the delivery point. If there is no reliable reading, Operations approve the handover.

  • How many delivery attempts are allowed?

Funamu Operations set how many attempts a delivery gets (from 1 to 5) and for which reasons another attempt is allowed. The delivery screen shows the number for your parcel.

  • What counts as a delivery attempt?

Going to the delivery point and recording "Could not hand over" with a reason.

  • What should I do after an unsuccessful attempt?

On the delivery screen, under Parcels, press "Could not hand over", choose the reason and say whether you tried to reach the customer. The app shows the next step: another attempt if Funamu's rule allows it, or the failed-delivery process.

  • Can I retry the delivery?

If the app shows "Another delivery attempt is scheduled", press "Set out again" when you leave.

  • How do I record the reason for a failed attempt?

On the delivery screen, under Parcels, press "Could not hand over", choose the reason and say whether you tried to reach the customer. The app shows the next step: another attempt if Funamu's rule allows it, or the failed-delivery process.

  • What evidence is required for a failed attempt?

The reason, whether you tried to reach the customer (for "nobody available" and "did not reply" you must have contacted them in the app first), and for "Other" a description. Your GPS is recorded.

  • What happens after all delivery attempts fail?

Funamu Operations decide what happens to a failed delivery: another attempt, collection by the customer at a pickup station, or return to the Merchant. Keep the parcel safe and follow the next step the app shows.

Proof of delivery12
  • What is proof of delivery?

The customer's delivery PIN entered at handover. It is the only proof that completes a delivery.

  • How do I submit proof of delivery?

Enter the customer's PIN on the delivery screen.

  • What types of proof of delivery are supported?

The PIN. A photo can be added as evidence, but never completes a delivery.

  • Is customer confirmation required?

    Yes, by the PIN.

  • Is an OTP required?

Yes. The delivery PIN is the one-time code.

  • Is a signature required?

No. Funamu uses the PIN, not signatures.

  • Is a delivery photo required?

No. The PIN is required; a photo is optional evidence.

  • When should I capture proof of delivery?

At handover, with the customer present.

  • What happens if I cannot obtain proof of delivery?

Do not hand over the parcel. Ask the customer to open the order in the Funamu app, where the PIN is shown. If they cannot, message Funamu Support in Chat: Operations can check the customer's identity and approve the handover. Otherwise record a delivery attempt.

  • Can I correct proof-of-delivery information?

No. A confirmed delivery cannot be changed. If something is wrong, message Funamu Support in Chat.

  • Can I view proof of delivery after completing a delivery?

The completed delivery shows when it was confirmed.

  • How is proof of delivery stored?

The PIN is never stored in plain form: the server checks it and records the confirmation, time and GPS. Photos are stored privately.

PIN, signature and photo confirmation12
  • What is the delivery OTP?

    The customer's 4-digit delivery PIN.

  • Where does the customer get the OTP?

In their Funamu app, on the order.

  • How do I enter the OTP?

On the delivery screen, in the PIN field.

  • What happens if the OTP is incorrect?

It is refused. After 5 wrong PINs in a row it is blocked and Funamu Operations step in.

  • What happens if the customer does not have the OTP?

Do not hand over the parcel. Ask the customer to open the order in the Funamu app, where the PIN is shown. If they cannot, message Funamu Support in Chat: Operations can check the customer's identity and approve the handover. Otherwise record a delivery attempt.

  • Can I complete delivery without an OTP?

No. Only Funamu Operations can approve a handover without the PIN, after checking the customer's identity.

  • How does customer signature confirmation work?

    Funamu does not use signatures.

  • How does delivery photo confirmation work?

You can add a photo as evidence. It does not complete the delivery.

  • What makes a valid delivery photo?

The parcel at the place of handover, clear, without the customer's face or label details.

  • What happens if I cannot capture a delivery photo?

    Nothing: the photo is optional.

  • Can I submit multiple proof types?

Yes: the PIN and a photo.

  • Can proof of delivery be disputed?

Yes. A customer can report a problem on the order; Funamu Operations decide from the PIN record, GPS and photos.

Failed deliveries10
  • What happens when a delivery fails?

Funamu Operations decide what happens to a failed delivery: another attempt, collection by the customer at a pickup station, or return to the Merchant. Keep the parcel safe and follow the next step the app shows.

  • What reasons can be recorded for a failed delivery?

Nobody available to receive, customer did not reply, location not found, location could not be reached, parcel declined, a restriction at the location, not safe to deliver, or other (with a description).

  • Who decides whether a delivery has failed?

You record the attempt; Funamu's attempt rule and Operations decide what follows.

  • Can I retry a failed delivery?

If the app schedules another attempt, yes.

  • What happens to the package after a failed delivery?

Funamu Operations decide what happens to a failed delivery: another attempt, collection by the customer at a pickup station, or return to the Merchant. Keep the parcel safe and follow the next step the app shows.

  • Do I return the package to the merchant?

Only when the app shows return to the Merchant. If a failed delivery goes back to the merchant, the Delivery Partner who carries it back is paid the full Delivery Partner share of the delivery fee. If you made the attempt but someone else carries it back, you are paid half of that share.

  • Do I take the package to a hub or station?

If the app sends it to a pickup station, yes. Funamu has no hubs. Parcels between cities go through PUDOs: facilities run by PUDO Partners, where parcels are checked in, bagged for the trip and handed on. A pickup station is a PUDO where customers collect.

  • How is the failed delivery recorded?

On the parcel, with the reason, time and GPS. The customer sees the reason in plain words.

  • Does a failed delivery affect my performance?

Successful deliveries are one of the things Funamu looks at, but a recorded attempt is never punished by itself.

  • Can I receive payment for a failed delivery attempt?

If a failed delivery goes back to the merchant, the Delivery Partner who carries it back is paid the full Delivery Partner share of the delivery fee. If you made the attempt but someone else carries it back, you are paid half of that share.

Customer unavailable8
  • What should I do if the customer is not answering?

Message the customer in the delivery's chat, then on "Contact the customer" choose "Customer is not answering". The app starts the wait (5 minutes and 2 contact attempts unless Operations set other numbers). After that you can record the delivery as failed.

  • How long should I wait?

Message the customer in the delivery's chat, then on "Contact the customer" choose "Customer is not answering". The app starts the wait (5 minutes and 2 contact attempts unless Operations set other numbers). After that you can record the delivery as failed.

  • How many times should I contact the customer?

Message the customer in the delivery's chat, then on "Contact the customer" choose "Customer is not answering". The app starts the wait (5 minutes and 2 contact attempts unless Operations set other numbers). After that you can record the delivery as failed.

  • Can I mark the customer as unavailable?

Yes: "Customer is not answering" starts the wait, then record the delivery as failed.

  • What evidence should I provide?

Your contact attempts are counted by the app and your GPS is recorded. Add a note if it helps.

  • Where should I take the package after the customer is unavailable?

Funamu Operations decide what happens to a failed delivery: another attempt, collection by the customer at a pickup station, or return to the Merchant. Keep the parcel safe and follow the next step the app shows.

  • Can I retry delivery later?

If the app schedules another attempt, yes.

  • How does customer unavailability affect my earnings?

If a failed delivery goes back to the merchant, the Delivery Partner who carries it back is paid the full Delivery Partner share of the delivery fee. If you made the attempt but someone else carries it back, you are paid half of that share.

Merchant unavailable7
  • What should I do if the merchant is not available?

Mark "Arrived at merchant" and wait. The merchant sees that you are waiting. If the deadline passes after you arrived you are not released: Funamu Operations get a Merchant delay alert and decide (wait, reassign or cancel). You can also un-accept with a reason before pickup.

  • How long should I wait?

Until your pickup deadline, or longer once you have marked arrival; Operations then decide.

  • How do I report merchant unavailability?

Mark "Arrived at merchant": that is what alerts Operations if the merchant is late. You can also message Funamu Support in Chat.

  • Can I cancel or abandon the pickup?

Un-accept it with a reason before pickup.

  • Can I receive compensation for waiting?

    No. Waiting is not paid.

  • What happens to the assignment?

Operations decide: wait, reassign or cancel the order.

  • Can the assignment be reassigned?

Yes, by Operations, or by you un-accepting.

Address problems9
  • What should I do if the address is incorrect?

Message the customer in the chat. If you still cannot deliver, record the attempt with "Location not found".

  • What should I do if I cannot find the address?

Use the Route Map and message the customer. Then record "Location not found".

  • What if the customer provides a different address?

You cannot change the destination. The customer changes it in the app where allowed.

  • Can I change the destination address?

    No.

  • Who can authorize an address change?

The customer in the app, before pickup, or Funamu Operations.

  • Can I deliver to an alternative address?

    No.

  • How do I report an incorrect address?

Record the attempt with "Location not found", or message Funamu Support in Chat.

  • Does changing the destination affect my earnings?

A change made by Funamu Operations comes with its own fee; your earning is that fee minus the commission.

  • What happens if the destination is outside the service area?

Funamu takes orders only to supported delivery areas, so this should not happen. If it does, message Funamu Support in Chat.

Damaged packages11
  • What should I do if a package is damaged before pickup?

Do not take it. On the delivery, choose "Reject pickup", pick the reason and take a photo. The merchant sees it on its order and Funamu Operations decide; until then you cannot confirm that pickup.

  • What should I do if a package becomes damaged during transport?

Stop safely, take photos, and message Funamu Support in Chat with the order number. Do not hand it over until Funamu tells you what to do.

  • How do I report package damage?

Record it on the delivery screen where the app gives an option (reject pickup, could not hand over, handover problem), otherwise message Funamu Support in Chat with the order number and photos.

  • Should I take photos of damaged packages?

    Yes, always.

  • Should I notify the merchant?

Before pickup the merchant sees your pickup rejection. After pickup, tell Funamu Support; Funamu tells the Merchant.

  • Should I notify operations?

Yes, through Funamu Support in Chat.

  • Who is responsible for the damage?

Whoever had the parcel when it was damaged, decided by Funamu Operations from the handover records and photos.

  • Can I continue delivering a damaged package?

Only if Funamu tells you to.

  • What happens after a damage report?

Funamu Operations decide: deliver, return or replace. The customer is refunded by Funamu where due.

  • Can a damaged package result in a dispute?

Yes. The customer can report it; Operations decide from the evidence.

  • Can I be charged for package damage?

Funamu does not fine you or deduct money from your earnings for damage. A full refund of an order reverses the earning of the delivery it concerns. A customer's return after delivery is different: you keep your pay for a delivery you completed.

Lost packages9
  • What should I do if a package is missing?

Do not continue the handover. Message Funamu Support in Chat straight away with the order and tracking number.

  • When should a package be reported as lost?

As soon as you notice it is missing.

  • How do I report a lost package?

Open the Chat tab and message Funamu Support. Give the order number and what happened, and send photos if they help. Funamu replies within 24 hours.

  • What information is required for a lost-package report?

The order and tracking number, where you last had it, and what happened.

  • Who investigates missing packages?

    Funamu Operations.

  • What happens to my assignment?

Operations decide; the other parcels carry on.

  • Can I be held responsible for a missing package?

If the records show it was in your hands, Funamu Operations can restrict or suspend your account. Funamu does not fine you.

  • How is responsibility determined?

From the handover records: whoever last accepted the parcel is responsible for it.

  • Can a lost package result in a financial claim?

The customer is refunded by Funamu. A full refund reverses the earning of that delivery; nothing else is deducted.

Wrong packages7
  • What should I do if I receive the wrong package?

Do not take it. On the delivery, choose "Reject pickup", pick the reason and take a photo. The merchant sees it on its order and Funamu Operations decide; until then you cannot confirm that pickup.

  • What if the package ID does not match?

Do not take it. On the delivery, choose "Reject pickup", pick the reason and take a photo. The merchant sees it on its order and Funamu Operations decide; until then you cannot confirm that pickup.

  • What if the destination does not match?

Do not take it. On the delivery, choose "Reject pickup", pick the reason and take a photo. The merchant sees it on its order and Funamu Operations decide; until then you cannot confirm that pickup.

  • Can I return the package to the merchant?

Before pickup, leave it with the merchant. After pickup, only when Funamu Operations tell you.

  • Can I continue the delivery?

Not with a parcel that does not match.

  • How do I report a package mismatch?

On the delivery, choose "Reject pickup", pick the reason and take a photo. The merchant sees it on its order and Funamu Operations decide; until then you cannot confirm that pickup.

  • Who corrects the shipment information?

    The Merchant, or Funamu Operations.

Returns10
  • How do customer returns work?

An approved return is collected from the customer or a pickup station and carried back to the merchant through the app handover.

  • Who collects returned packages?

    Delivery Partners, through return deliveries.

  • How do I receive a return assignment?

Return legs are offered or assigned like other deliveries; returns of uncollected PUDO parcels are under PUDO returns.

  • How do I verify a returned package?

Check it against the return on the screen and record its condition at handover.

  • Where should returned packages be delivered?

Where the return shows: the merchant, or a PUDO on the way.

  • How do I confirm return pickup?

Accept the parcel in the app handover.

  • How do I confirm return delivery?

The merchant accepts the parcel in the app.

  • What happens if the customer refuses to return the package?

Record it and leave. Funamu Operations decide the return.

  • What happens if a returned package is damaged?

Record it at handover with photos; Operations decide.

  • How are return deliveries paid?

If a failed delivery goes back to the merchant, the Delivery Partner who carries it back is paid the full Delivery Partner share of the delivery fee. If you made the attempt but someone else carries it back, you are paid half of that share.

Reverse logistics9
  • What is reverse logistics?

Moving a parcel back towards the merchant: a customer return or a failed delivery.

  • When is reverse logistics used?

For approved returns, failed deliveries and parcels not collected from a PUDO.

  • How are reverse-logistics jobs assigned?

Like other deliveries, or by Funamu Operations.

  • Where do returned packages go?

Back to the merchant, sometimes through a PUDO.

  • How do hubs participate in reverse logistics?

Funamu has no hubs. Parcels between cities go through PUDOs: facilities run by PUDO Partners, where parcels are checked in, bagged for the trip and handed on. A pickup station is a PUDO where customers collect. PUDOs hold returned parcels until they are carried back.

  • How do stations participate in reverse logistics?

Customers can drop returns at a pickup station; uncollected parcels go back from there.

  • How do I transfer a returned package?

Parcels pass between a Delivery Partner and a PUDO only through the app handover: you hand over, and the receiver accepts each parcel on their own device. Responsibility moves only when the receiver accepts. Anything missing or damaged is recorded at that moment and goes to Funamu Operations.

  • How is reverse logistics tracked?

Every leg and handover is recorded on the parcel.

  • How are reverse-logistics trips paid?

If a failed delivery goes back to the merchant, the Delivery Partner who carries it back is paid the full Delivery Partner share of the delivery fee. If you made the attempt but someone else carries it back, you are paid half of that share.

  • How does cash reconciliation affect my payout?

It does not: there is no cash. Your payout is your credited earnings.

Partner earnings14
  • How much can I earn?

It depends on how many deliveries you complete. You earn the delivery fee of each delivery you complete, minus Funamu's delivery commission (a percentage Operations set, locked on the order when it is placed). It is credited when the customer's PIN is confirmed; between cities, each leg is credited to whoever completed it when it is done. Earnings shows each task's fee, commission and the amount credited.

  • How is my delivery earning calculated?

You earn the delivery fee of each delivery you complete, minus Funamu's delivery commission (a percentage Operations set, locked on the order when it is placed). It is credited when the customer's PIN is confirmed; between cities, each leg is credited to whoever completed it when it is done. Earnings shows each task's fee, commission and the amount credited.

  • How is an intra-city delivery paid?

You earn the delivery fee of each delivery you complete, minus Funamu's delivery commission (a percentage Operations set, locked on the order when it is placed). It is credited when the customer's PIN is confirmed; between cities, each leg is credited to whoever completed it when it is done. Earnings shows each task's fee, commission and the amount credited.

  • How is an inter-city trip paid?

Each leg is credited to whoever completed it when it is done: the leg's fee minus Funamu's commission.

  • How can I see my earnings?

    Open Earnings.

  • When are earnings recorded?

When the customer's PIN is confirmed, or when your leg is completed. Nothing is recorded at acceptance.

  • Why is an earning amount different from what I expected?

There is no itemised fare. For each task Earnings shows the delivery fee stored on it, the commission rate locked on it and what was credited to you. A full refund reverses the earning of that delivery. A customer's return after delivery is different: you keep your pay for a delivery you completed.

  • Can an earning be adjusted?

Only by a refund decided by Funamu, shown on Earnings.

  • How do I dispute an earning?

Message Funamu Support in the Chat tab with the order number, what you think is wrong and any photos. Support records it as a case and a person decides. You can ask for a decision to be reviewed once.

Delivery fees10
  • How are delivery fees calculated?

Delivery fees come from the rates Funamu Operations set for each city and vehicle: a base fee, a charge by distance and by weight, a pickup charge and a night charge in the hours Operations set. The fee is worked out and locked when the customer orders, and the customer pays it with the order.

  • Who pays the delivery fee?

The customer, with the order. A Merchant can pay it for free-delivery offers.

  • How much of the delivery fee goes to the partner?

The fee minus Funamu's delivery commission, a percentage Operations set and locked on the order.

  • Does distance affect the delivery fee?

    Yes.

  • Does vehicle type affect the delivery fee?

Yes. Rates are set per vehicle.

  • Does package size affect the delivery fee?

Yes, through the vehicle the load needs and its billable weight.

Account suspension10
  • Why was my account suspended?

Funamu tells you the reason. Suspension is decided by a person, never automatically.

  • What happens when my account is suspended?

  • Can I still access my earnings?

Yes, you can see them on Earnings. Payouts cannot be requested while the account is suspended; the balance stays yours and can be paid out when the suspension is lifted.

  • Can I still access my delivery history?

    Yes.

  • How do I appeal a suspension?

Message Funamu Support in the Chat tab with the order number, what you think is wrong and any photos. Support records it as a case and a person decides. You can ask for a decision to be reviewed once.

  • How long can a suspension last?

Until Funamu Operations lift it, or for the time stated in the decision.

  • What causes permanent account closure?

Serious or repeated breaches, such as theft, fraud, violence or handing over without the PIN.

Every notice is also kept in the app.

  • How do I view my assignments?

    My deliveries.

  • How do I accept a job?

  • How do I start pickup?

At the merchant, tap "Arrived at merchant". It takes a fresh GPS reading and counts only within 100 m of the merchant's registered location. Once you have arrived, you are not released if the merchant is late: Funamu Operations are told about the Merchant's delay instead.

  • How do I confirm pickup?

Check every parcel against the delivery screen (order number, tracking numbers, number of parcels), then tap "Mark picked up". Only that tap records the pickup.

  • How do I start delivery?

    Tap "Out for delivery".

  • How do I confirm delivery?

The customer's 4-digit delivery PIN is in their Funamu app. At handover, ask the customer for it and enter it on the delivery screen. A correct PIN completes the delivery and credits your earning. After 5 wrong PINs in a row it is blocked and Funamu Operations step in. Never hand over a parcel without the PIN.

  • How do I submit proof of delivery?

The customer's 4-digit delivery PIN is in their Funamu app. At handover, ask the customer for it and enter it on the delivery screen. Offline and connectivity9
  • What happens if I lose internet connectivity?

The app keeps showing what it last loaded, with an offline banner. Handovers, pickup scans and GPS are saved on the phone, encrypted, and sent when you are back online.

  • Can I continue a delivery while offline?

Yes. Your steps are queued and sent later.

  • Which app functions work offline?

Viewing saved screens, handover PIN checks, pickup scans and GPS. Accepting, payouts and changes to your profile need a connection.

  • What happens to delivery updates while offline?

They wait on the phone and count only when the server confirms them.

  • When are offline updates synchronized?

As soon as the phone is back online.

  • What happens if synchronization fails?

It is tried again. A step the server refuses is shown to you to do again.

  • Can I confirm delivery without internet?

You can enter the PIN. It is checked when it reaches the server, and Funamu Operations approve that handover before it completes.

  • What happens if the app closes during delivery?

Open it again: your work is on the server and saved steps are still queued.

  • What happens if my phone loses power?

Charge it and open the app. Saved steps are kept. Your live location stops until then.

GPS and location9
  • Why is my location incorrect?

GPS can be weak indoors or between tall buildings. Go outside and wait for a better reading.

  • Why cannot the app detect my location?

Location permission is off or the phone's location is off.

  • How do I enable location permissions?

In the phone's settings, allow location for the Funamu Delivery Partners app, including while it is in the background.

  • Can I manually update my location?

No. Only the phone's GPS is used.

  • What happens if GPS is unavailable?

You rank after located Delivery Partners for offers; arrival cannot be marked; a handover without a reliable reading needs Operations' approval.

  • Can incorrect GPS affect assignment?

    Yes, offers use your location.

  • Can incorrect GPS affect delivery confirmation?

Yes. A handover far from the delivery point, or without a reliable reading, needs Operations' approval.

  • Can incorrect GPS affect my performance?

Arrival not marked in time can release a delivery.

  • How do I report a GPS problem?

Open the Chat tab and message Funamu Support. Give the order number and what happened, and send photos if they help. Funamu replies within 24 hours.

Multi-stop routes11
  • What is a multi-stop route?

Several deliveries you carry together; My route shows the stops in order.

  • How are multi-stop routes assigned?

By accepting several deliveries before your first pickup, or by Funamu Operations assigning one to you. While you hold a delivery you have not picked up, you are offered another only if its pickup is within 100 m of your first pickup, or within 50 m of the road from your first pickup to where that first delivery goes. Funamu Operations set these distances.

  • How many stops can I have?

As many as your vehicle can carry, within the second-pickup rule. While you hold a delivery you have not picked up, you are offered another only if its pickup is within 100 m of your first pickup, or within 50 m of the road from your first pickup to where that first delivery goes. Funamu Operations set these distances.

  • Can I see all stops before accepting?

Each delivery shows its pickup and destination before you accept.

  • How is a multi-stop route optimized?

Pickups are ordered nearest-next from your location, keeping earlier deadlines.

  • Can I change the stop order?

Yes, as long as each pickup deadline is met.

  • What happens if one stop fails?

Record that attempt; the others carry on.

  • What happens if one package is missing?

Tell Funamu Support in Chat; the others carry on.

  • How are multi-stop routes paid?

    Each delivery on its own.

  • How do I complete each stop?

    With that customer's PIN.

  • How do I complete the entire route?

When every stop is delivered or recorded, the route is complete.

Batch deliveries10
  • What is a batch delivery?

Several deliveries carried in one vehicle load.

  • How are batch deliveries assigned?

Each customer's delivery is offered and accepted on its own; parcels priced onto one vehicle are accepted together. While you hold a delivery you have not picked up, you are offered another only if its pickup is within 100 m of your first pickup, or within 50 m of the road from your first pickup to where that first delivery goes. Funamu Operations set these distances.

  • Can I accept multiple packages in one batch?

Follow the next step the app shows for that parcel.

  • How do I complete a batch?

    Complete every delivery in it.

  • What is an inter-city manifest?

In Funamu it is the bag list of your trip.

  • How do I receive a manifest?

    With the trip, in Trips.

  • How do I verify a manifest?

Check each bag against the list at the origin PUDO handover.

  • What information appears on a manifest?

The bags, their destination PUDO and their parcels.

  • How many packages can be included?

As many as the vehicle's registered capacity allows.

  • What happens if a package is missing from the manifest?

Do not take it. Tell the PUDO; it is recorded at the handover.

  • What happens if a package appears on the manifest but is not present?

Record it as missing at the handover; Funamu Operations investigate.

  • How do I confirm loading?

By accepting the bags in the handover.

  • How do I confirm departure?

The trip shows as started once you have accepted its bags.

  • How do I confirm arrival?

The destination PUDO accepts the bags in the app.

  • How do I hand over a manifest at the destination?

Parcels pass between a Delivery Partner and a PUDO only through the app handover: you hand over, and the receiver accepts each parcel on their own device. Responsibility moves only when the receiver accepts. Anything missing or damaged is recorded at that moment and goes to Funamu Operations.

  • Can a manifest be transferred to another partner?

    Only by Funamu Operations.

Cargo capacity9
  • How is cargo capacity determined?

Each vehicle carries what its registration allows. A motorcycle load must also be within 80 kg and 120 litres. The whole load (every parcel you would carry together) is checked, from the measurements Merchants must enter for every product. Deliveries that do not fit are not offered to you and cannot be accepted.

  • What is the maximum weight I can carry?

Your vehicle's registered capacity; on a motorcycle also at most 80 kg.

  • What is the maximum volume I can carry?

  • Can I exceed my registered capacity?

    No.

  • What happens if a shipment exceeds my capacity?

It is not offered to you.

  • Can I request another vehicle?

Before pickup, un-accept with "Load unsuitable"; at the merchant, reject the pickup with the reason. Funamu dispatch then finds a suitable vehicle.

  • Can capacity be shared across multiple packages?

Yes, it is checked for the whole load.

  • Can fleet operators configure capacity per vehicle?

Each company vehicle has its own registered capacity.

  • How do I stop being a delivery partner?

  • How do I close my partner account?

  • Can I temporarily deactivate my account?

Yes. Go offline: you receive no delivery offers until you go online again. Your account, earnings and history stay as they are.

  • What happens to outstanding deliveries when I leave?

Finish them, or un-accept those not yet picked up, first. The app does not close an account that still has deliveries or return parcels.

  • What happens to unpaid earnings?

Request a payout on Earnings before closing: the app does not close an account whose balance can be paid out. A balance below the minimum payout stays on the account and is yours again if you reopen it.

  • What happens to pending payouts?

The account closes only after a payout that is being sent has been confirmed.

  • What happens to wallet balances?

Request a payout on Earnings before closing. A balance below the minimum payout stays on the account; payouts cannot be requested while the account is closed, and it is yours again if you reopen it.

  • What happens to my delivery history?

Delivery and money records are kept 5 years (tax and accounting law), chats 2 years. Then they are deleted.

  • What happens to fleet drivers when a fleet operator closes its account?

They leave the company and stay Delivery Partners on their own.

  • Can I return to the platform later?

Yes. For 12 months after you close it, reopen your account yourself on More > Close account: it is active again at once, with your profile, history and balance, and you start offline. After 12 months, ask Funamu Support in Chat. An account suspended or closed by Funamu cannot be reopened this way.

  • Can I request deletion of my data after offboarding?

Yes. Delivery and money records are kept 5 years (tax and accounting law), chats 2 years. Then they are deleted.

  • Can I reject this job?

You do not have to accept an offer: leave it and it goes to others. Nothing is recorded against you for not accepting.

  • What happens if I reject this job?

You do not have to accept an offer: leave it and it goes to others. Nothing is recorded against you for not accepting.

  • Can I cancel this delivery?

Yes, before pickup. On the delivery, choose un-accept and a reason (cannot make it, vehicle problem, too far, load unsuitable, other). The delivery goes back to other Delivery Partners. There is no fine, and nothing is earned. If you un-accept the same order 3 times it is no longer offered to you. After pickup you cannot un-accept: ask Funamu Support in Chat.

  • What happens if I cancel?

Yes, before pickup. On the delivery, choose un-accept and a reason (cannot make it, vehicle problem, too far, load unsuitable, other). The delivery goes back to other Delivery Partners. There is no fine, and nothing is earned. If you un-accept the same order 3 times it is no longer offered to you. After pickup you cannot un-accept: ask Funamu Support in Chat.

  • I cannot find the merchant.

Use the Route Map. If the merchant is still not there, message Funamu Support in Chat, or un-accept before the deadline.

  • The merchant is not available.

Mark "Arrived at merchant" and wait. The merchant sees that you are waiting. If the deadline passes after you arrived you are not released: Funamu Operations get a Merchant delay alert and decide (wait, reassign or cancel). You can also un-accept with a reason before pickup.

  • The package is not ready.

Mark "Arrived at merchant" and wait. The merchant sees that you are waiting. If the deadline passes after you arrived you are not released: Funamu Operations get a Merchant delay alert and decide (wait, reassign or cancel). You can also un-accept with a reason before pickup.

  • The package is damaged.

Before pickup: do not take it, on the delivery, choose "Reject pickup", pick the reason and take a photo. The merchant sees it on its order and Funamu Operations decide; until then you cannot confirm that pickup. After pickup: photos and Funamu Support in Chat.

  • The package is missing.

Message Funamu Support in Chat straight away with the order and tracking number.

  • The package does not match the order.

Do not take it. On the delivery, choose "Reject pickup", pick the reason and take a photo. The merchant sees it on its order and Funamu Operations decide; until then you cannot confirm that pickup.

  • I cannot find the customer.

Message the customer in the delivery's chat, then on "Contact the customer" choose "Customer is not answering". The app starts the wait (5 minutes and 2 contact attempts unless Operations set other numbers). After that you can record the delivery as failed.

  • The customer is not answering.

Message the customer in the delivery's chat, then on "Contact the customer" choose "Customer is not answering". The app starts the wait (5 minutes and 2 contact attempts unless Operations set other numbers). After that you can record the delivery as failed.

  • The customer gave me the wrong address.

You cannot change it. Message the customer, then record "Location not found" if needed.

  • I have a mechanical problem.

Before pickup un-accept with "Vehicle problem"; after pickup message Funamu Support in Chat.

  • My vehicle broke down.

Before pickup un-accept with "Vehicle problem"; after pickup message Funamu Support in Chat.

  • I have been involved in an accident.

Get safe first. Call 999 or 112 (police, ambulance) if anyone is hurt or in danger. When you can, message Funamu Support in Chat with the order number, where you are and what happened, with photos. Funamu Operations take care of the parcels and the customers.

  • I have a safety problem.

Your safety comes first. Do not enter a place that is not safe. Before pickup, un-accept; at the door, record the attempt with "Not safe to deliver". If you are in danger, call 999 or 112, then tell Funamu Support in Chat.

  • I need to report an incident.

Open the Chat tab and message Funamu Support. Give the order number and what happened, and send photos if they help. Funamu replies within 24 hours.

  • I need to report damaged cargo.

Record it on the delivery screen where the app gives an option (reject pickup, could not hand over, handover problem), otherwise message Funamu Support in Chat with the order number and photos.

  • I need to report a missing package.

Open the Chat tab and message Funamu Support. Give the order number and what happened, and send photos if they help. Funamu replies within 24 hours.

  • I need to report a cash discrepancy.

No. Funamu has no cash on delivery: every order is paid in the app before it is delivered. Never take money from a customer or a Merchant for an order.

  • I need to contact support.

Open the Chat tab and message Funamu Support. Give the order number and what happened, and send photos if they help. Funamu replies within 24 hours.

  • I have completed the pickup.

Tap "Mark picked up" on the delivery; the assistant can show the button. A message alone changes nothing.

  • I have completed the delivery.

Enter the customer's PIN on the delivery screen. A message alone changes nothing.

  • How do I submit proof of delivery?

The customer's 4-digit delivery PIN is in their Funamu app. At handover, ask the customer for it and enter it on the delivery screen. A correct PIN completes the delivery and credits your earning. After 5 wrong PINs in a row it is blocked and Funamu Operations step in. Never hand over a parcel without the PIN.

  • What is my delivery OTP?

There is none for you: the PIN is the customer's, in their app. Ask them for it.

  • What do I do if the customer does not have the OTP?

Do not hand over the parcel. Ask the customer to open the order in the Funamu app, where the PIN is shown. If they cannot, message Funamu Support in Chat: Operations can check the customer's identity and approve the handover. Otherwise record a delivery attempt.

  • Where should I take this returned package?

Where the return or the next step on the parcel shows.

  • Where is the next hub?

Funamu has no hubs. Parcels between cities go through PUDOs: facilities run by PUDO Partners, where parcels are checked in, bagged for the trip and handed on. A pickup station is a PUDO where customers collect. The PUDO is named on your delivery or trip.

  • Where is the next station?

The station is named on your delivery, with its place on the Route Map.

  • What is my inter-city manifest?

Ask the assistant: it reads your bags.

  • How many packages are on my manifest?

Ask the assistant: it reads your bags.

  • What is my route?

Ask the assistant: it reads your route.

  • What is my next stop?

Ask the assistant: it reads your route.

  • How many stops remain?

Ask the assistant: it reads your route.

  • What is my current performance?

    Your rating is on Earnings.

  • What is my acceptance rate?

    Funamu does not measure one.

  • What is my completion rate?

Funamu does not calculate this rate for Delivery Partners. Earnings shows your completed tasks and your rating; Funamu Operations look at on-time and successful deliveries, complaints and incidents together, never one number.

  • What is my cancellation rate?

Funamu does not calculate this rate for Delivery Partners. Earnings shows your completed tasks and your rating; Funamu Operations look at on-time and successful deliveries, complaints and incidents together, never one number.

  • What is my customer rating?

    On Earnings.

  • Do I have any penalties?

Funamu does not fine Delivery Partners and never deducts a penalty from earnings. What can happen: a delivery not picked up by its deadline is taken back and that order is not offered to you again; un-accepting one order 3 times stops its offers to you; and Funamu Operations can warn, restrict or suspend an account for misconduct, never automatically.

  • Why was money deducted from my earnings?

Yes. Funamu keeps a delivery commission: a percentage of the delivery fee (handling fees have their own rate), set by Funamu Operations as a rate and locked on each order when it is placed. It is taken when your earning is credited, so the amount credited is already net. A full refund reverses that delivery's earning. A customer's return after delivery is different: you keep your pay for a delivery you completed.

  • Why is my payout pending?

The payment provider has not confirmed it yet.

  • What is my wallet balance?

Ask the assistant: it reads your balance.

  • What are my recent payouts?

Ask the assistant: it reads your payouts.

  • What incentives am I currently eligible for?

None: Funamu has no Delivery Partner incentives at the moment.

  • What jobs are available to me?

    Open Available deliveries.

  • Can I go offline?

Tap "Go offline". Offers stop and location sharing stops. Deliveries you already accepted stay yours: finish them, or un-accept those not yet picked up.

  • Why am I not receiving jobs?

Check that your identity verification is approved, that you are online, that location is allowed for the app, and that you are in your registered city.

  • Is my vehicle eligible for this job?

If it is offered to you, yes: only eligible vehicles see it.

  • Is this package within my vehicle capacity?

Each vehicle carries what its registration allows. A motorcycle load must also be within 80 kg and 120 litres. The whole load (every parcel you would carry together) is checked, from the measurements Merchants must enter for every product. Deliveries that do not fit are not offered to you and cannot be accepted.

  • What should I do next?

Ask the assistant: it reads your active run and tells you the next step.

  • What is preventing me from completing this delivery?

Ask the assistant: it reads the delivery and its verification state.

For a company admin, the company's summary, read-only. Never for a driver.

  • Can fleet AI users access driver information?

A company admin's assistant reads only what the Company workspace shows that admin.

  • Which AI actions require confirmation?

All of them: every action is a button you tap.

  • Which AI actions require additional authorization?

None beyond your tap: the server checks each one like a tap on the screen.

  • Which AI actions are read-only?

The assistant can read your own deliveries, route, parcels, bags, earnings, payouts, rating and profile, and answer from the Help Center. It cannot see other Delivery Partners' data.

  • Which AI actions are prohibited?

Entering or checking a PIN, marking arrival, changing a destination, profile, vehicle or payout account, and anything for another Delivery Partner.

AI Assistant records14
  • Are AI actions recorded?

Every action is done by your own tap on the same endpoint as the screen and is recorded with who, what, which delivery and when, like any other action. The assistant conversation is kept with your account.

  • Can I see actions performed by the AI?

The assistant performs none by itself; your taps appear on the delivery and in the conversation.

  • Can fleet operators audit AI actions?

    No.

  • Can administrators audit AI actions?

Yes, Funamu Operations, from the action log.

  • Does the AI record who requested an action?

    Yes: you, by your tap.

  • Does the AI record what action was performed?

    Yes.

  • Does the AI record when the action occurred?

    Yes.

  • Does the AI record the affected shipment or assignment?

    Yes.

  • Can AI actions be reversed?

The same way as the screen's action: an acceptance can be undone before pickup; a pickup or delivery cannot.

  • What happens when an AI action fails?

You see the real error; nothing is claimed as done.

  • What happens when the AI does not have permission?

The server refuses the action and the assistant says so.

  • What happens when business rules prevent an AI action?

The server refuses it with the reason.

  • Can an AI action be disputed?

Message Funamu Support in the Chat tab with the order number, what you think is wrong and any photos. Support records it as a case and a person decides. You can ask for a decision to be reviewed once.

  • How are unauthorized AI actions prevented?

The assistant only prepares buttons for your own deliveries; your tap goes to the same server checks as the screen.

Hand-over photos and full pickup stations5
  • Can I add a photo when a PUDO hands me a damaged parcel?

Yes. In the hand-over on your phone, mark the parcel Damaged or Wrong parcel, write what is wrong, and press "Add photo". You can add up to 3 photos, before you confirm. A parcel you mark this way does not become your responsibility.

  • Who sees the photos I add to a hand-over?

You, the other party of that hand-over, and Funamu Funamu workers for the city. They open through private links that expire after a few minutes. Customers and Merchants never see them.

  • Why is a pickup station missing when I propose a reroute?

A pickup station that is full, paused or closed by its PUDO Partner is not listed. Choose another one from the list.

  • Does the PUDO know I am coming?

Yes. When you pick up a parcel that is going to a PUDO, its staff are told a parcel is on its way. When you start the hand-over at the PUDO, they are told a hand-over is waiting. They still have to accept each parcel on their own device.

  • Can a PUDO receive a parcel from me after it reached its capacity?

Yes. A full PUDO is only hidden from new orders. Parcels already on their way to it are received as usual.

Intracity and intercity work15
  • What is the difference between an intracity and an intercity Delivery Partner?

An intracity Delivery Partner delivers inside their own city. An intercity Delivery Partner carries parcels between cities, only on the routes Funamu assigned to them. You are one or the other, never both. Your designation is under More > Profile ("Your work").

  • How do I become an intercity Delivery Partner?

Choose Intercity under "Work you want" on your application, or ask your Partner Officer in Chat. Funamu confirms the designation and assigns you routes from the routes it supports. You cannot set routes yourself.

  • Why is my Home screen different from other Delivery Partners?

You are designated for intercity trips only, so your Home is the intercity dashboard: your routes, your vehicle, the parcels waiting on your routes and the parcels you accepted. Deliveries inside a city are not offered to you.

  • Which intercity parcels do I see?

Only parcels booked on a route designated to you, in that direction, that no other Delivery Partner has accepted. Kampala to Gulu and Gulu to Kampala are two routes.

  • How do I get an intercity parcel?

Press "Accept" on the parcel under "Waiting on your routes". The first Delivery Partner to accept gets it; if someone else was faster you are told so. Accepted parcels move to "Your parcels".

  • What must I register before I can accept parcels?

Two things on your Home screen. Your vehicle: the weight it can carry in kg and the space it has in litres. And for each route: the days you travel, the time you leave, how many hours the trip takes, and any notes. Until both are saved, and your Delivery Partner Officer has confirmed the vehicle capacity, "Accept" is refused. If you change the capacity it must be confirmed again.

  • Why must my vehicle capacity be confirmed?

So that nobody is given more than their vehicle can carry. After you save the weight and space, your Delivery Partner Officer confirms it. Ask them in Chat if it is taking long.

  • Why am I told my vehicle is not allowed to carry a parcel?

Funamu puts items in classes, for example fragile or perishable, and decides which vehicle types may carry each class between cities. If a parcel holds an item your vehicle type may not carry, you cannot accept it. The message names the class.

  • Can I carry a parcel I did not accept?

No. A parcel is loaded at the PUDO only for the Delivery Partner who accepted it, or the one a Delivery Partner Officer gave it to. If you were asked to take over a parcel, the officer reassigns it to you first and it then appears under "Your parcels".

  • What is my pickup code?

Each parcel you accepted shows a six-digit pickup code under "Your parcels". Give it to the PUDO when you collect the parcel: they can mark it loaded onto your vehicle only with that code, so nobody else can take your parcel. If the parcel is given to another Delivery Partner the code changes.

  • I work inside a city. Why must I register a ward?

Every intracity Delivery Partner belongs to one ward, even though you deliver across the whole city. It decides which Ward Manager is your local contact. You cannot go online without it. Ask your Partner Officer in Chat to set or change it.

  • Why can I not accept a parcel?

One of these: your vehicle capacity or your travel times for that route are not registered; your capacity is not confirmed yet; your vehicle type may not carry an item in the parcel; the parcel would take your vehicle over its weight or its volume; you already carry 30 parcels; or another Delivery Partner accepted it first. The button and the message say which.

  • What happens when my vehicle is full?

You are given no new parcels. Each waiting parcel shows its weight and volume, and is refused once it would take the total over what your vehicle carries by weight or by volume. Room frees up when you hand parcels over at the destination PUDO.

  • Can I give back a parcel I accepted?

Yes, until it is loaded. Press "I cannot carry this" and give a reason. The other Delivery Partners on the route can then accept it. After loading, contact your Intercity Delivery Officer.

  • Do I see the customer on an intercity parcel?

No. You carry a sealed parcel from one PUDO to another, so you see the order number, the two PUDOs and the departure time only.

Chat with your Partner Officer and Ward Manager3
  • How do I chat with my Funamu Partner Officer?

Open the Chat tab, press New chat (on a phone, the round + button) and choose "Chat with your Partner Officer". It is one chat that stays open. It reaches the Funamu partner officer for your city; if your city has none yet, the City Manager. They are alerted when you write, and you are alerted when they reply.

  • How do I chat with my Ward Manager?

Open the Chat tab, press New chat (on a phone, the round + button) and choose "Chat with your Ward Manager". It reaches the Funamu Ward Manager who covers your ward; if your ward has none yet, the City Manager sees it. It needs your ward to be on record.

  • Can I still contact Funamu Support?

Yes. "Chat with Support" under New chat in the Chat tab starts a conversation with Funamu Support, as before. Use your Partner Officer for matters about your account and daily work in your city, and Support for general help.

Delivery to PUDO and intracity routes9
  • What is an intracity route?

A list of wards in your city, in the order a vehicle passes them, for example Ntinda, Kisasi, Kyanja. Funamu's city Delivery Partner Officer creates the routes. They are used when a customer in your city chooses delivery to a PUDO.

  • Why am I not offered deliveries to a PUDO?

Only a vehicle registered on a route that holds both the merchant's ward and the PUDO's ward is offered the parcel. A vehicle on no such route never sees it. Your routes are under More > Profile, "Delivery to PUDO routes". Ask your Delivery Partner Officer in Chat to register your vehicle.

  • Is a route registered to me or to my vehicle?

To the vehicle. If you start working with another vehicle, that vehicle must be registered on the route before it is offered deliveries to a PUDO.

  • Can a motorcycle carry deliveries to a PUDO?

Only in a city where Funamu registered your motorcycle on a route. Tricycles, vans and trucks on the route are offered the parcel first, and motorcycles a few minutes later (5 minutes unless your city changed it). The motorcycle limits of 80 kg and 120 litres still apply.

  • Who gets a delivery to a PUDO when several vehicles are on the route?

The first to accept it, if the parcel fits the vehicle by weight and volume.

  • Can I carry several parcels to a PUDO in one trip?

Yes. Before you collect, you can accept more parcels as long as everything you hold plus the new parcel fits your vehicle. Once you have collected a parcel you are offered nothing new until it is delivered.

  • What if the merchant and the PUDO are in the same ward?

Any vehicle registered on a route that passes through that ward is offered the parcel, first to accept.

  • Why was I offered a parcel for a PUDO that is not on my route?

When nobody on the route accepts for a while (15 minutes unless your city changed it), the parcel is also offered to vehicles on routes that touch the merchant's ward or the PUDO's ward.

  • Can I deliver between Kampala, Wakiso and Mukono?

Where Funamu treats several cities as one delivery city, a Delivery Partner registered in any of them is offered deliveries in all of them, and routes can cross them.

Starting a chat, message alerts and your profile picture7
  • How do I start a new chat?

Open the Chat tab and press New chat (on a phone, the round + button at the bottom right). It lists the chats you can start: the AI Assistant, Funamu Support, your Partner Officer and your Ward Manager. Chats about an order, a delivery or a parcel still start from that order.

  • Where are my AI Assistant conversations?

Yes. The Chat tab lists your AI Assistant conversations together with your other chats, marked "AI". Press the "AI Assistant" filter to see only those. Opening one continues that conversation.

  • How do I turn message alerts on or off?

Open the Chat tab and press the bell at the top. It shows your message alerts for this app: you can turn alerts for new messages on or off, and allow alerts on this device. These are the same settings as in Profile.

  • Why does Chat look different on a laptop?

On a laptop or desktop the Chat tab shows your list of chats on the left and the chat you open on the right. On a phone or tablet a chat opens on its own screen, with a back arrow to the list.

  • How do I add a profile picture?

Open More. "Profile picture" is at the top: press "Upload a picture" and choose a photo (JPEG, PNG or WebP). Press "Change picture" to replace it, or "Remove" to delete it.

  • Who sees my profile picture?

Customers, merchants, PUDO Partners and Funamu staff who chat with you. A customer still sees only your first name. The profile picture is separate from the face photo you send for identity verification, which only Funamu staff see.

  • How do I remove my profile picture?

Open More, and under "Profile picture" press "Remove", then confirm. People you chat with see the standard icon again. You can upload a picture again at any time.

Photos in chats8
  • How do I send a photo in a chat?

Open the chat and press the camera button beside the message box. Choose a photo from your camera or gallery; you can add up to 4 photos to one message, with or without text. JPEG and PNG photos only. Videos, documents and voice notes cannot be sent.

  • Which chats can I send photos in?

In merchant chats (after a paid order), chats about a parcel or delivery, Support chats, and chats with your Partner Officer or Ward Manager. The AI Assistant chat has no photo messages.

  • How do I open a photo someone sent me?

A photo shows as a small picture in the chat. Tap it to open it full screen; "Enlarge" makes it bigger and you can scroll around it. "Close" returns to the chat.

  • How do I report a photo?

Open the photo and press "Report photo". You can say what is wrong with it. Funamu staff look at it and can remove it from the chat. The sender is not told who reported it. Photos are not checked automatically, so reporting is how Funamu learns about a bad one.

  • Why does a photo say "Photo removed by Funamu"?

Funamu staff took that photo down after it was reported. It is hidden from everyone in the chat. The rest of the chat stays as it was.

  • How many photos can I send?

Up to 4 photos in one message, and up to 20 photos in one chat in a day. When you reach 20, the app says so and you can send more the next day. Text messages are not limited by this.

  • Who can see the photos I send?

Only the people in that chat, and Funamu staff who have access to it. A photo is a private file: it opens through a short-lived link made for the person looking at it, and cannot be found by anyone else.

  • Does a photo in a chat confirm a pickup, a handover or a delivery?

No. A photo in a chat is only a message. Pickup, handover, collection and delivery are confirmed only in their own steps, with their own proof.

Pickup PIN, timers, arrival and failed deliveries8
  • How do I collect a parcel from a merchant now?

At the counter, open the delivery and press "Show pickup PIN". Read the PIN to the merchant; they enter it in their app and that records the pickup and puts the parcel in your care. You cannot mark it picked up yourself. A handover PIN is 4 digits, works once, expires after 15 minutes, and stops working after 5 wrong entries or if the handover is cancelled or the person is reassigned. Funamu stores only a scrambled copy, never the PIN itself. Never send a PIN in a chat or message.

  • Why can't I press "Picked up" any more?

Because the merchant now confirms the handover with your pickup PIN. Once they enter it, your delivery moves to "Picked up" on its own. "Check pickup status" only refreshes.

  • When am I told about an order?

When you hold a delivery, you are told the expected ready time as soon as the merchant accepts and chooses a preparation time, and again if it changes or runs late. You are told at once when the merchant marks it ready.

  • What reminders do I get for a ready pickup?

Once the order is ready and you hold it, you get a reminder after 5 minutes and after 10 minutes. Funamu Support is alerted at 15 minutes. If it is still not collected by the pickup deadline (at least 25 minutes after it was ready, unless Support extends it), it goes to other Delivery Partners. You are never penalised for an order that was not ready.

  • What does "Arrived" do on a delivery?

It records that you reached the customer (or the PUDO the parcel is going to) with your GPS position. The server's time is the official arrival time. Location must be on and the reading fresh.

  • The customer is not answering. What now?

Press "Customer is not answering" to start the wait, then call and message them. Funamu Support messages the customer at once, after 5 and after 10 minutes, and is alerted at 15. You can record a failed delivery only after at least 25 minutes and the required call attempts.

  • Where does a failed delivery go?

If a nearby PUDO can take it, you are told which one: take the parcel there and hand it over in the app with the PUDO's PIN. If no PUDO can take it, it goes back to the merchant as before and Support tells you the next step.

  • How do I hand parcels to a PUDO?

Start the handover in Handovers. The PUDO checks each parcel and gets a PIN on their screen; enter that PIN under the handover and press Confirm with PIN. Only parcels they marked Received leave your care.
